Panic Away and How McDonagh Fought Stress with Stress

Barry McDonagh found it was a waste of time trying to overcome his panic attacks by deep breathing or other calming methods.  The attack symptoms of breathlessness, shaking, racing heart, and giddiness are caused by a surge of adrenalin, which the body has mistakenly released in response to a fear stimulus.  In a stressed person this can be a just a memory or a subconscious response to a location or situation.

Barry realized the body has to deal with the adrenalin before it can start to relax, so he developed his Panic Away system, which uses excitation to beat the adrenalin effects and restore calm.  The techniques panic away can be learned in minutes and then used in any situation or any place where the user feels an attack coming.  The techniques restore control to the sufferer and also help him rid himself of unwanted depressing or worrying thoughts.

Barry even says people who have mastered his techniques would be capable of taking on fear-inducing challenges such as public speaking engagements.
